Agnieszka Cierniak, PhD

Ph.D, specialty biochemistry.
She graduated biology, specialty biochemistry at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University. Ph.D. thesis: Effect of quercetin (3,5,7,3 ‘, 4’-pentahydroxyflavone) on DNA damage caused by etoposide (9- [4,6-O-ethylidene-ß-D-glucopyranosyl] -epipodophyllotoxin) in normal blood and leukemia cells “she defended with honors.


Her research interests focus on the use of plant polyphenols and nanoparticles in medicine and the mechanisms of  DNA damage and repair. In free time she is interested: digital photography, gardening, swimming, reading modern literature and traveling.
